Abstract art play

I thought I'd try out the inspire me thursday project this week, which was abstract art.

I'd been working on a still life set-up of a cream and sugar bowl over the weekend in a realistic way and so abstracted from that.

I used Daler-Rowney oil pastels on green pastel paper 8 by 12 ins. Its more muted in colour than my usual style, but I'm leaving as is because its an experiment.

I like these colors...they're very organic and vegetable looking. The shapes are wonderfully organic too...the ellipses that interconnect create a really nice movement throught the composition. Well done!

I really like this, it's a really strong image but calm and soothing at the same time.

this is wonderful... love the colors, and that the inspiration came from a cream and sugar bowl! Thanks for participating at Inspire Me Thursday!
